PROJECT

TPA was appointed by Kersfield to support a planning application to redevelop the main campus of Redland High School to 44 residential properties. The plans include sympathetically restoring the Grade II listed main house, Redland Court and providing a new vehicular access to a basement car park via Redland Court Road.

APPROACH

To support the planning application TPA prepared supporting documentation, including a Transport Statement and Travel Plan. The Transport Statement demonstrated that development has a high level of sustainable accessibility and could be accommodated safely on the local transport network with no material traffic impact.

Further work included a parking study to establish and support the proposed level of parking and the design of off-site highway mitigation required for traffic calming and to provide sufficient access visibility. Advice was also provided on delivery and servicing arrangements

Following submission of the planning application, TPA responded to comments from the Highway Authority. Subsequently, officers raised no objection to the development.

OUTCOME

The scheme was granted permission by Bristol City Council on 21 September 2018.
