ND7, Temple Quay, BRISTOL
Bristol City Council unanimously agreed at the committee meeting held on the 12 November 2014 to approve a residential lead scheme to provide 168 flats and circa 1,000 square metres of commercial floorspace on plot ND7 located within the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone in Bristol.
The Transport Planning Associates Bristol office worked closely with the Square Bay Development LLP design team, including for Alder King,
CJCT Studios and Tyler Grange.
TPA prepared a Transport Statement and a Framework Travel Plan to support the planning application submissions. Significant post-application negotiations were held with highway officers at Bristol City Council to resolve highways and transport issues raised with respect to the location of the site access and its proximity to nearby junctions, as well as the proposed car parking provision and off-site public realm and
Our work ultimately lead to the preparation of a plan showing a raised table /shared surface scheme on the local road network within the immediate vicinity of the site to help restrain through vehicle speeds and provide safe pedestrian connections.
Negotiations were also held with a local car club operator leading to an agreement that it would operate an on-street car club space and provide the car, car sharing technology and full operation of the car on Avon Street.
