We were appointed by Ptarmigan Land to provide transport and highways advice in relation to the promotion of the site for allocation within the Local Plan.
Mount Farm is a former WWII airfield located, within the Green Belt, to the east of the existing village of Berinsfield, in South Oxfordshire. The proposals would provide approximately 1,700 residential units along with a new primary school, employment and retail opportunities and leisure facilities. The proposals will also enable the regeneration of parts of the existing village.
APPROACH
We provided support in preparing a masterplan for the site, including a new vehicle access to the village and demonstrating the ability for existing bus routes to be able to service both the existing and new parts of the village. Technical reports were also prepared to demonstrate the sites suitability as a strategic site through the development of the new Local Plan.
The site was included as a draft allocation within the Local Plan and supporting documents were prepared for the Examination in Public, where Expert Witness support was also provided.
OUTCOME
The Planning Inspector has recommended the site for allocation within the Local Plan, which is due to be formally adopted by the end of 2020.
