We were commissioned by Garsington Opera and the Wormsley Estate to provide transport planning consultancy services in relation to a proposed practice and rehearsal centre for Garsington Opera and also the extension of the temporary planning permission for the open air opera pavilion. The site was located on the Wormsley Estate, near Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire
The proposals will replace an existing agricultural building and associated storage infrastructure / facilities with one purpose designed Practice Centre and associated car parking for the Garsington Opera.
In addition the building will also contain associated office, storage and workshop space for the Opera as well as indoor cricket net. The site was located on the Wormsley Estate, near Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire
APPROACH
A Transport Statement was produced in support of the application, demonstrating that the proposals would not have a detrimental impact on the local highway network. An updated Travel Plan was also prepared for the rehearsal building and also to promote sustainable transport use for those attending performances at the open air opera pavilion.
OUTCOME
Planning permission for the site was granted in April 2020. Since planning approval we have provided detailed design services relating to the new access and also a temporary construction access.
