PROJECT

We were appointed by Hill and Goram Homes to provide transport planning advice for a residential led development on the Bristol Harbourside. The development is for 165 residential units.

APPROACH

We are supporting the applicant in the preparation of a planning application. We have fed into the scheme design, and now in the process of developing a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan.

Comprehensive pre-application discussions have been held with Bristol City Council Transport Development Management to ensure the design and assessment meets their requirement.

As the scheme will deliver only a low number of parking spaces, we have also liaised with a local car club operator to see if a car club can be delivered on site. This will provide all residents with access to a car even if they do not own one.

Key to the proposals is the creation of a high quality public realm that fronts on to the Harbourside. TPA has worked closely with the scheme architect and landscape architect to ensure the development can deliver an attractive public realm whilst balancing the requirements of servicing and refuse vehicles.

OUTCOME

A planning application is due to be submitted in late 2020.
