PROJECT

We were instructed by Four Acres to support a planning application to replace two existing residential properties with three residential properties and associated car parking spaces.

The site is located close to Newbury town centre, making it a highly sustainable, with access to a large range of local services and facilities, including both Newbury Rail and bus stations.

APPROACH

A Transport Statement was prepared to support the planning application. It was agreed that there would be a limited increase in vehicle movements but the main concern for local residents and the local highway authority, was the potential loss of on-street parking spaces which would result from a new vehicle crossover. Through reviewing existing on-street parking demand, providing off-street parking spaces and restricting take up of parking permits we were able to address these concerns.

OUTCOME

Planning permission was granted in September 2020.
