Planning permission granted at Cromwell Road, Cambridge

Transport Planning Associates worked as part of a multi-disciplinary project team that included the Cambridge Carter Jonas planning team and Pollard Thomas Edwards (PTE) to secure outline planning permission for the redevelopment of land adjacent to Cromwell Road, Cambridge for 245 residential dwellings and local community uses. The Members of Cambridge City Council, resolved to grant planning permission at its meeting of the Planning Committee on Wednesday, 7 February 2018.

The north-to-south, route will provide access to green spaces in Cambridge including: Coldham’s Common, the Leper Chapel Meadows and Barnwell Lake area, with Ditton Meadows as well as Stourbridge Common beyond.
As well as designing modifications to the site access to accommodate the new cycle route, we completed a detailed analysis of local travel demand and traffic movements, demonstrating that the proposals would provide a net benefit in traffic terms to local residents of Cromwell Road. A package of transport improvements and financial contributions were agreed to facilitate the delivery of […]
